And the work beings....

Ok, so for those who actually started to think that I call 7 week long holidays as internship :P , I can tell, that things are on track :)

But before starting the hard work, I had to collect some extra energy ( and calories) and went to a place what will be worth to visit on a quite frequent base in the future. THE pencake house in the "Rocks" quarter of Sydney. They have absolutely fantastic pencakes which differs from ours in that they make these thick pencakes and then flavour the dough itself or add various delicious saouces or fruits. I met Gyongyi, who is a friend of a friend of mine and lives in Sydney for 4 years. She is half Hungairan and half Chinese and speaks perfect Hungarian.

So we decided to go for a chocolate pencake with chocolate sauce and ice cream and a lot of strawberries and for a creamy pencake with vanilia ice cream and caramel covered bananas. If anybody comes to Sydney definitely have to try these!!!!

On the way home on the ferry and the lights of Sydney Harbour...

Now let´s get finally serious here :)) Right now it seems that I will devide my remaining 6 weeks between the University of New South Wales ( from now on UNSW) and the Sydney University. The fortunate thing is that the projects what I can get involved in in these schools are very different. On the UNSW I will go to the faculty of built environment and help in 2 research prjects. One of them looks at how to build adaptable and flexible hospitals so that the buildings don´t have to be demolished ater 30 years and waste a lot of money with this plus building the new one. The other project focuses on that in Australia and New Zeeland they are pretty exposed to extreme weather conditions and in case of a serious flood or heatwave etc....what should hospitals do in order to maintain the main functions. I will probably stay for 3 weeks and will visit the research group 3 days a week, and on mondays I can sit into a lecture given by the deputy dean of the faculty of built environment, what is actually held for doctors and nurses about how to communicate with each other to aviod adverse events in hospitals. Fridays will probably be free :)

And then on Sydney University I will help in a research project about palliative care. They are more in the preparation phase when they recruit patients and have to narrow down literature.

So I guess it will be very useful to take part in 2 so different projects.

Other than that I will go to the bush on saturday!!!!

Szoval itt Gyongyivel talalkoztam, aki Aliz baratnom baratnoje :) es felig magyar felig kinai, tokeletesen beszel magyarul.

Shopping wonderland

You just gotta love Paddington!Free cookies, champaigne, hair and make up! :)) Oh yes, that´s what you get offered when you go there on saturdays when there is the Paddington market where young designers show their talent and not one of them got famous by starting from here
.

I was a bit reluctant to sit into the hair and make up artist´s chair, but the stereotype of the gay shop assistant made his best to encourage me :"C´mon girlfriend, you have to enjoy liiiiiife!" If he says so..... :D

There is a parade going on now, and the shops are beautiful! Here you find everything what is hippy, crazy, hand made and very creative!

From here I walked all the way down on Oxford street to the Queen Victoria building - it is opposite the town hall what is the absolute heart of the city - what is the most prominent shopping mall probably in whole Australia....just one thing: there is door-to-doot carpet on the floor....another thing:I will probably never buy anything there except for a sandwitch :D

Anyways, it was a long and great day, I took the ferry back home and then we had dinner on the beach.
Today I didn´t really plan anything special, but it still turned out to be a great day! I have explored a big part of Mosman what is simply undecribable. If I really have to, I would say it´s like " Beverly Hills meets the jungle meets the Hamptons" I will go back and take pictures.

Nappy time in Taronga Zoo

I went to Taronga Zoo today because it´s close, and it´s said to be the best zoo in Sydney. It´s situated right at the water so you can see the Sydney Harbour and the opera house basically from everywhere. Not even giraffes can block the view:)
However, living in Taronga zoo is an exhausting job. Almost everybody was sleeping when I arrived so for a while not much action was offered.

I´m not even sure, if he evert wakes up and gets sober.... /

Totally knocked out....

Teljes KO....

Not even Brasilian coffee could help here....

itt még a brazil kavé sem segitett....

" all I can take" sunbath sleep in pair....

orrverzesig napozasos alvas parban....

However, there is a gang which can not rest! A team of ready-for-action pinguins is planning the escape to Madagascar....

Azonban van egy bagazs, amelyik nem nyugszik!Mindenre elszant pingvinek csapata tervezi a szokest Madagaszkarra..." szukebb csatornat nem tudtunk talalni??!!"

Ferry, opera house, university - still no hot Aussie men...

The net is a bit tricky nowadays....I would really like to upload more pictures but I simply can not take it how long I have to wait for it!!Anyways, here you are:

Ok, I got the most important arranged: I have an aussie phone number! It was quite easy to get it and the rates are not bad either. For 31 dollar I got 150 dollar to talk with vodafone numbers ( I got that) and another 150 to talk to other mobile numbers, and text messages cost only 28 cents internationally! So that was a good deal I guess. I made a huge walk, I got lost in my neighbourhood, what turned out to be a tough excercise by the time I managed to find my way back to the house.
The evening was funny, cause we cooked dinner - Annette´s spicy chicken and caramelized chilli potato with fried cheese and rucola salad was really tasty - and then we were watching the top 20 Australian stars, who turned out to be not even Australians, or those who were Australians, are already dead....
Then this morning after breakfast

Annette drove me down to the Mosman harbour where I started my ferry trip.

The ferry passes by the opera house and it looks great!!!

I wanna see it in the evening too and want to shoot a series about the different light effects they started to show on it. So I will just take the ferry there and back some evenings, because I bought a weekly ticket for 41 dollars what is good for ferry, bus and train. And if you regard that one single bus ticket costs 3,3, it was a good deal. But you can also bargin with the bus drivers, at least I have done that, and yesterday I paid only 2 dolllars for the same rute :P
So from the ferry I changed to bus out to the University of New South Wales, see campus here:

I unfortunately forgot the names of half of the people whom I met, but except for Jane it seems that in the faculty of built environment, everybody comes from outside of Australia,so it´s a very international gang there. They showed me my future table :) I will go back there from next week, and will visit the Sydney University next monday.
In the afternoon I took another walk in the city, down to Hyde park, where a lot of people jog, and read but you can also listen to AC/DC played on an acustic guitar, what was really awsome! :))
BUT!I hope one thing will change soon, with time or with the weather season:I start to think that the hot, Australian hunk is only a photography phenomena! At least they don´t run around in the city, in Mosman either, on UNSW either - so I start to be worried here .... :P But I don´t give up girls! I try the bush in the weekend :D
Magyarul: Minden ok, vegre lett ausztral szamom! Reggeli utan, mikozben vegig el kellett szenvednem, hogy mast sem latok, csak az obol kek vizet es a palmafakat :P, Annette levitt a Mosman kikotobe ahonnan indul a komp!Lasd 2. kep.
Utana setaltam kicsit a cityben, hallgattam AC/DC-t akusztikus gitaron a Hyde Parkban, aztan voltam a Manly beachen, ami kozel van hozzank.

Arrived

So the rest of the trip was quite nice and I got picked up on the airport because a couple of weeks ago I by accident met this Hungarian family living in Sydney and they were very happy that someone comes from Hungary, so they offered it to me from the very beginning that they come out and then show me around.
My neighbourhood is....well...judge it yourself :)) it´s very hilly here, the road goes up and down but eventually it goes down to a bay with the sailing boats and yachts. This is my room :) - with en-suite bathroom and garden view, and me at the Balmoral beach.

My "foster family" is pretty cool...Annette drove me around a bit but then she took off to Adelaide and I went for a walk, then Barrie the husband came home and cooked dinner. Now their son came home too, David, and they have a daughter Anna :) who doesn´t live here anymore.I meet the woman I met in Rotterdam on thursday, her name is Jane and probably we will talk it through then and on friday what I will do. Now the funny thing is that Annette and Barrie go for a littel shiptravel to Europe from next week, so does that mean that I will be home with......David??
Anyways, tomorrow I plan to get an Australian number and get some money out and buy a good book about Sydney. I have to see sth already in the weekend :)

Mosman

On the way...

I had my dinner on Changi airport in Singapure not a long time ago, which was aroud 8 in the evening. Until now everything went pretty smooth:nice magazines, friendly cabin crew who calls me miss Hungary and the biggest pleasure:no screaming kids in the near on the plane. But now things got a bit slowed down somehow which means that I have to stay here until midnight....4hours extra time to pass by....but its fine :), if things like this dont happen, you know that its not real life ;)...am I right Elvira?

A vacsit viszont a legitarsasag allja :)
abcs
