My weekend was quite busy, I didn´t get to go to Melbourne what was a bumer!!!But it was still good. Now I´m in a last minute rush so I think the last pictures will be uploaded from home already :) But you can have a guess based on the title ;)

The last week was pretty good, I could proceed with the protocol and show it to Angela today. I had thai lunch one day with a Canadian Phd student girl and I had to come to Australia to discover that I actually like Asian food a lot!!It was really delicious, and I got so inspired by it that when we decided to go to the movies on saturday with David because his parents had some old guests over, I proposed that I want to have dinner at a thai restaurant. The movie was not too unforgettable, we watched the 'ghost writer".



So on saturday I had a nice morning cupcake and coffee with Annette in Paddington because one of her oldes friends runs an extremely popular coffe place there. Then I went back to the paddington nmarket, and to some other nice little shops, and found a necklace I definitely would like to possess :))

The next destination was the Powerhouse museum because I have read so many times that they have really good exhibitions and it didn't let me down, I got just what I wanted. I saw 2 exhibitions for only 5 bucks what is a bragain. One of them was about a successful Australian fashion photographer and the other one about the Australian fashion week. I spent 4 hours in the museum and had such a great time. Especially because this weekend was totally the opposite of the last one from weather point of view and it was all cloudy and rainy, so is there anything better than being inside and looking at beautiful clothes and photographs ? :) Ok, now some of you probably think, that hallo, yes there is, but for me it was just perfect:)

Legalabbis a het elejen annak indult, amikor nagy lelkesen felkialtotta sarki pub-ban, hogy hiszem o tud magyar gulyaslevest fozni es ezt feltetlenul meg kell kostolnom. Penteken kaptam par emailt, hogy akarok e bele gombat, mondtam nem, akarok e bele borsot, mondam nem, akarok e bele karfiolt mondtam nem, es akkor gondoltam, irok egy rovid osszefoglalot, hogy mik a tradicionalis osszetevoi a gulyasnak, es hogy nem, azaz nem kell bele rizs, karalabe, sutotok,mazsola stb....amit Magyarorszagon kivul mindenki hajlamos beledobalni. Azonban Steve nem igazan mutatott nagy hajlandosagot arra, hogy ilyen olyan jotanacsokat kovessen es biztositott szakertelmerol gulyasleves teren.....jjjja.....


A hetvegen elhataroztam hogy VAROST akarok :)) nagyon jok voltak az allatok meg a sok sok termeszet, de most kellett mar egy kis "glamuuuuuuuur" :D Szoval szombaton reggel Annette eljott velem Paddingtonba es beultunk egy sarki kavezo/ebedlo/uzsonnazo/embernezo+kritizalo/tarsasagieletetelo- be, ami rettenetesen nepszeru es David keresztenyja mukodteti. Onnan en tovabbmentem egy ket boltba ott a kornyeken, ami arrol hires, hogy a fo bevasarloutcarol ha leteresz, akkor a kis mellekutcakban designer outletek es feltorekvo ausztral tervezok ekszerdobozhoz hasonlo kis boltjai talalhatoak. En megtalaltam a darabot - lasd a kepet fent a nyaklancrol - amiert utolso nap visszamegyek szerintem, de meg meg akarom nezni, hogy Melbourne mit tartogat ;)


A nap nagyon jol telt, de faraszto is volt, es este elegge elhuzodott a mozi, ugyhogy vasarnap reggel amikor bamultam a szurke eget a reggeli mellol, ugy gondoltam, hogy jooooo kis kanapenulos vasarnapnak nezunk elebe amikor alaposan betamadom Annette magazingyujtemenyet. Since uploading the new pictures takes a lot of time today as well, and it didn´t come together yesterday either, I thought that I write a new post because there are some 40 people who follow this blog on a regular basis and most of them have already clearly expressed that the posts are coming to rarely :)) So here we go, there is an intersting thing about the Australian history what is not so commonly known outside if Australia.

The stolen generation mean ca. 100.000 aboriginal children who were taken from their families between the 1880 and 1960 and were put into orphanages or were given to foster families. Back then it was a very important part of the Australian state policy because they were convinced that they help aboriginal children this way to be more integrated into society and to escape from powerty. The biggest reason was though that the Australians thought that the aboriginal "race" will eventually die out. This in some way was an experiment and historians started to attack it around the 1980s for the first time. They started to tell storie coming from the stolen children who said that they were beaten and raped and couldn´t cope with the loss of their families. According to many historians the policy of wrenching a child from his family has wrecked the lives of the next 3 generation.

However there are some aboriginals who are happy that they were brough up by a white family. A lawyer said that thank to his white foster family he could have a secure childhood and could enjoy all the same priviliges as the white kids such as getting a proper education f. ex.

Well, I haven´t talked to aboriginals since I´m here yet, because here are not so many here in Sydney but I have heard that alcoholism is a big problem in the indigineus society and most of the time they can not escape powerty.

Torteneszek szerint az oslakos gyerekeket rendszeresen vertek, keptelenek voltak feldolgozni az anyjuk elveszteset es egy ido utan identitas krizis jelentkezett naluk, mert mar sem az aboriginal sem a feher ausztral tarsadalomba nem tudtak beilleszkedni. Egyes torteneszek szerint az aboriginal gyerekek kiszakitasa a csaladjaikbol megpecsetelte az elkovetkezo 3 generacio sorsat.

Vannak viszont olyan oslakosok is akik orulnek, hogy annak idejen feher nevelocsaladokhoz kerultek. Egy ugyved azt mondta, hogy feher csaladjanak koszonhetoen biztonsagos korulmenyek kozott nohetett fel es mindazokban a kivaltsagokban reszesulehetett mint a feher gyerekek, mint peldaul a jo szinvonalu oktatas es igy sokkal jobb starott vett az eletben.

Hat en nem beszelgettem meg oslakosokkal amiota itt vagyok, mert Sydneyben nincsenek sokan, de azt tudom, hogy az alkohol komoly problemat jelent es altalaban nem tudnak kiemelkedni a szegenysegbol.

I'm sorry, that it took so long to write this time, but during the week not much happened, but then the weekend was busy enough not to have enough time or energy to write a proper new post:) It actually take a long time until the photoes get uploaded and I got home to late every evening to have the patience to wait for it.

I already tried to upload new pictures during the weekend, but we have problems with the net at home. Again....anyways, the adventage of this is that I can write this blog with a nice New York cheesecake á la Starbucks :))
So last week was a lof of fun!!!! I was on the uni from monday to thursday again and since that was my last day on the UNSW we decided to go for a lunch together with all the people from the office. We went to an Indonesian restaurant and we had a tapas kind of lunch going on. We just oredered a lot of different courses and everybody took what she wanted. It was excellent!! I can make this statement that I like Indo food!And I got my official Univerity of New South Wales mug :D They were so sweet, I got this as a present and everybody wrote a card for me with all good wishes!It was just a really nice feeling, because I don´t know these people very well and not even for a long time, but we got on really well from the very beginning and it´s just crazy how fast you can build up little firendships here!So here they are:

Undoubtly thursday was the best day of last week. Not only the day, but especially the evening. After wondering around in the city after my lunch I went home to change because I had a party invitation to the IVY bar, what is the most sought after place in Sydney now. David´s company organized a function there for like 200 people so they were there already since noon. I got there around 7 in the evening and the mood was already quite gooooooood :D That evening was a blast!!!!I was with DAvid, his boss Steve and a guy from the office called Alex and we were dancing all the time!Not only me, but all the 3 guys as well!And David´s boss is just unbelievable!!He is a 44 years old guy and he dances there with us through the whole night!Not to mention the fact that everything was on the house = him :D and the final bill of the evening was 800 dollars!But apparently it didn´t bother him!:D Anyways, it was one of the greatest nights I have had lately.

The next day I was free from any obligations and after so much moving I decided that I deserve a little relaxation so I went down to the beach what is just at the end of our street basically.

:) But this one day was enough to relax and in the weekend I was already looking forward to some adventure.
I decided to go to the Blue Mountains what is a really spectacular mountain area around Sydney, well it takes good 1,5 hours to drive there. There is a rock called the 3 sisters and the story behind is that there were 3 sisters who were escaping from an evil witch and they were turned into a rock so that the witch couldn´t find them.

If you look at the picture really closely, you can see a tiny white spot on the left side of the rock on the left.That is a person on a bridge and I was on the that bridge as well. / Es a valosagos verzio - kisse kevesbe mozgalmas valtozat :) Ha nagyon kozelrol nezel a kepre, latsz egy icipici feher pottyot a legbaloldali "nover" szikla baloldalan. Az egy ember egy hidon ami meglehetosen magasan van, igy persze, hogy oda is el kellett mennunk :)

The guy who is standing next to me is Robert, whose parents are Hungarians but he was born here so he doesn´t speak that much but definitely understands a lot. / Szoval a bal kepen az a ket kicsi potty mi vagyunk. Mellettem a srac Robi, akinek a szulei magyarok de o mar ittkint szuletett, es nem sokat beszel magyarul de mindent ert.

Now, it was not only Robi in the Blue Mountains with limited Hungairan knowledge.



This guy next to me could also say thank you in Hungairan :D / Nem Robi volt az egyetlen, aki tanubizonysagot tett limitalt magyartudasarol a kek hegyekben. A mellettem lathato ur is tudja azt mondani, hogy "KOZONOM" :D
On sunday I was still up to some fun so we drove like 2 hours to see the pelikan feeding. These birds are really funny, creepy :P and scary in the same time. They know exactly that at 3:30 they get food so they start to gather already half an hour before and just wait there.

So undoubtly thursday was the highlight of the week, but all in all I had another very actionfull 7 days :)

Mar korabban is fel akartam tolteni a kepeket a hetvegen, de gondjaink voltak a nettel..megint, nem baj, most igy ejjel fel 1-kor nagyon jol megy :)
Szoval kis kiegesziteskeppen a fenti kepekhez : hetfotol csutortokig az egyetemen voltam, es mivel csutortok volt az utolso napom, elmentunk a tobbiekkel egy indonez ettermbe ebedelni. MEg kellett allapitanom, hogy szeretem az indonez kajat. Igazabol egy amolyan indonez tapas ebedunk volt, mert Nico aki indonez pontosan tudta hogy mik a jo fogasok es abbol mind rendeltunk es mindenki azt vett amit akart. Kaptam egy hivatalos egyetemi bogret es egy kepeslapot is amire mindenki irt jokivansagokat, aminek nagyon nagyon orultem :) Igaz, hogy keves idot toltottem ott, de megis nagyon jo volt, az elso pillanattol fogva nagyon befogadtak, ugyhogy ennek a kis ajandeknak kulon orultem.
Utana maszkaltam kicsit a varosban majd hazamentem atoltozni mert este meghivasom volt az Ivy barba ami ahogy a kepen is latszik, nem a szereny kategoriaba tartozik. 4 emeltes, design-dijat nyert hely, ahol van etterem, ilyen meg olyan szoba, medence a legfelos szinten, alul meg a tancter az egyik barral. Az apropo az volt, hogy a ceg ahol David dolgozik, rendezett ott egy eloadast amire tobb szaz embert hivak meg, es amugy is surun jarnak oda. En este 7re erkeztem, ok mar del ota ott voltak, ugyhogy a hangulat mar igencsak kellemesnek volt mondhato :D igy alighogy leultem mar fel is kertek tancolni es vegul egesz ejszaka roptuk mind a negyen a fonokot is beleertve aki 44 eves es valaki meg is jegyezte, hogy a nagypapak menjenek haza :D de ez ot egyaltalan nem zavarta es toretlen hangulattal szorakozott tovabb es akkor sem rebbent a szeme amikor a negyunk fogyasztasanak cehhjet kellett kiegyenliteni ami 800 dollarra rugott.....hat ilyen ez :D Mindenestre ez volt a legjobb esteim egyike mostanaban :)
Ezert penteken ugy dontottem, hogy a strandon pihenem ki az attancolt ejszaka faradalmait :) Ez a strand az utca vegen van, es amiket eddig alttam, azok kozul nekem ez tetszik a legjobban. Tiszta, nincs tolongas, eleg nagy es kozelebb alig lehetne.
Azert szombaton mar mehetnekem volt valamerre, es igy a kek hegyek fele vettuk az iranyt. Az ott talalhato 3 nover szikla amiert letobben odamennek, es a legenda az, hogy volt 3 nover akiket egy gonosz varazslo meg akart olni, es menekulniuk kellett, es mar majdnem utolerte oket,amikor sziklava valtoztak, es igy nem a gonosz varazslo kapta el oket. Vegeredmenyben nem tudom, hogy igy miert jartak jobban... :) Mindegy, nagyon szep videk volt, es a magyarul beszelo oslakos is jo benyomast tett ram :D
Vasarnap pelikanetetesre mentunk ahol fel 4kor mar gyulekezett egy nepes pelikancsapat, es volt akinek nem csak halra fajt a foga hanem kis vattacukorra is :D

I haven´t posted anything since my last post because I thought I would wait until I go somewhere again, because I was on the university the whole week, so I didn´t really had the time to make some exciting trips. It is pretty nice to be there though, the atmosphere is very relaxed and the people I work with, Danny, Anu, Michael and Viven are very friendly. My task is to gather information on what they do in hospitals in Europe and mainly in Scandinavia if possible, when there is an extreme weather event. The main focus is on the design and planning of the buildings of the hospitals, so my task is to find some info on how these extreme weather conditions effect the buildings. So I did this from monday to thursday and on friday I had a free day. Since it started to get warm, I was sure that I didn´t want to sit at home, and decided to go to the opera house because although I pass by there with the ferry every day, I didn´t really go close yet and there is a really cool and huuuuuuuuuuge garden behind it!One of the things what separate Sydney from other waterfront big cities is that here the waterfront is available for the public and not all of it belongs to private properties. This park is extremely popular with basically everybody. The view is fantastic, you can jog, do any kinds of excercises or just hang out, sit on the grass and read.
In the evening I met my firend Gyongyi again and we went to a dinner in a korean restaurant, and again, I was the only not asian person there :))) The food was good, bit spicy for me so I alone drank all the water from the jar what was prepared on the table :) As dessert we had green-tea ice cream! Yes, ther is a japanese-italian ice cream place where you can eat ther regular ice cream but also these exotic ones. Yesterday I had dinner with Anna, David and some other "mates" in an excellent Spanish restaurant and today I decided to go for a 12 km long walk!This rute is very recommended, according to the feedback I read about it it is unmissable if you are in Sydney. I can understand why, the whole path goes along white sandy beaches and very often you have the feeling that your walking in the jungle! :))
And last but definitely not least still on thursday as many of you know it very well, it was the global fashion night out when everything was open for a lot longer as usual and people were hitting the stores. Now here in Sydney women took this initiative really seriously, and it was almost scary what I winessed in David Jones, Sydney´s most famous department store. The other attraction there was the flower exhibition which altered the make-up section into a fairy tale. Live piano music and huuge, exotic flower compositions everywhere! Only this was also worth a visit.

On this picture above you can probably see that the shapes of the opera house were supposed to symbolize shells and not sails as people usually think. The size of the whole domain is some 70 hectars and it is very versatile. The Royal Botanical gardesn have palm grooves, oriental gardens etc... and in the next second that park gives a real jungle feeling with dense vegatation and huge plants. / Az egesz terulet merete kb. 70 hektar es nagyon valtozatos. Sok helyen egyenletesen nyirt pazsit van, aztan ott vannak a kulonbozo kertek, amik a kiralyi botanikus kertet alkotjak es megint mashol oriasi novenyek adnak egy kis dzsungelhangulatot.





Many statues can also be found in the park as well as the house of the first governor where the entrance is free and there are guided tours. / Sok szobor is talalhato a parkban valamint az elso kormanyzo rezidenciaja ahova ingyenes a belepes.

Oh, I almost forgot, this house is for sale, anybody interested? :) / Majdnem elfelejtettem, az a haz elado. Ha valakit erdekel, ne habozzon jelezni vasarlasi szandekat :)

Azert nem toltottem fel hetkozben uj kepeket, mert gondoltam, megvarom amig csinalok valamit. Hetfotol csutortokig az egyetemen voltam es estere altalaban elegge elfaradtam ugyhogy nem igazan maszkaltam semerre nagyon, de a hetvegere mar voltak terveim. Az egyetem amugy nagyon jo, az emberek akikkel egyutt dolgozom, Danny, Micheal, Anu es Viven nagyon aranyosak es a legkor nagyon oldott. Most az a dolgom hogy egy riportot probaljak arrol irni, hogy Europeaban mi tortenik a korhazak epuleteivel akkor, ha valami termeszeti katasztrofa tortenik. Foleg Skandinaviara kell fokuszalnom mivel ok elegge eloljarnak az ilyen kutatasokban es a design teruleten is uttoronek szamitanak. Szoval ezzel voltam elfoglalva, de penteke mar alig vartam, hogy azert megnezhessek valami ujat :P Penteken az ido eleggel felmelegedett es ugy dontottem, hogy elmegyek az operahazahoz, mert igaz, hogy minden nap 2szer elhajozok mellette, igazan kozel nem voltam ott. Mogotte pedig van egy hatalmas park ami nagyon nepszeru, mert igen nagy, es barmit lehet ott csinalni.Sokan futank, tornaznak, tai-chiznek, piknikeznek vagy csak fekszenek egy fa alatt es olvasnak. Az egyik dolog ami Sydney-t megkulonbozteti a tobbi vizparti nagyvarostol az az, hogy itt a partot nem epitettek be es nagyresze hozzaferheto az emberek szamara, es nem mindenhol nyilvanitottak privat terulette ami a draga villakhoz tartozik. Itt vagy 5 orat setaltam, aztan este megint talalkoztam Gyongyivel es elmentunk egy koreai etterembe, ahol megint en voltam az egyetlen nem azsiai kinezetu ember :)))) A kaja jo volt, es allitolag nem tul fuszeres, de azert en egyedul megittem az osszes vizet ami egy kancsoban ki volt keszitve az asztalon. Utana meg elmentunk egy japan-olasz fagyizoba ahol zoldtea fagyit ettunk :) Tegnap este Annaval, Daviddel es meg par emberrel egy nagyon finom tapas barban vacsiztunk, ugyhogy elhataroztam, hogy ma, vasarnap kell mar valami komolyan testedzos programot csinalnom. Nem jo ez igy, miota itt vagyok, tuti, hogy hiztam, de nem birok ellenallni a dolgoknak :)) Szoval kivalasztottam egy 12 km hosszu utvonalat, ami gyonyoru es kihagyhatatlan ha az ember Sydneyben jar. Feher homokos strandokon vezet keresztul es sokszor pedig az az erzese az embernek, hogy a dszungelben jar :D nagyon jo volt.
Vegul, de egyaltalan nem utolsosorban, meg csutortokon volt az amerikai VOGUE magazin altal szervezett globalis vasarlasi nap, amit a Sydney-i nok nagggggggyon komolyan vettek, es meg nekem is neha ijeszto volt amit a David Jonesban, Ausztralia legpatinansabb uzlethazaban muveltek....az aruhaz 25 eves evfordulojaval egybekotott viragkiallitas is erre a napra lett idozitve igy mindenhol elkepeszto viragkompoziciok voltak kiallitva es a kirakatok elott is folyton villogtak a vakuk.
Mindent egybevetve ez sem volt egy unalmas het ;))
